Basics
Videography
In accordance with DMCC's commitment to quality and consistency, we have established the following guidelines for the submission of video content. It is highly recommended to review the DMCC branding guidelines prior to submitting any video content to ensure compliance with our corporate style, colors, and messaging.
To ensure a seamless and efficient process, please review the guidelines below carefully and contact creative@dmcc.ae if you have any questions. These guidelines apply to all video files.
File format | H264 wrapped in as either MOV or MP4 |
Frame Rates | 23.98 or 25, preferably 23.98 |
Resolution | 1080 Progressive - Full HD (1920x1080, 16:9) at 10 - 20MP |
Audio | Uncompressed, stereo, no clipping |
Color Profile | No color grading |
If you shoot in higher resolutions, please make these files available to us too. See ‘How to Share Files’ on how to submit files. 1080p files will allow us to review and if necessary edit content quickly, these files are also manageable in size. If we have requested video for social media, please provide dimensions as per this guide https://sproutsocial.com/insights/social-media-video-specs-guide for each platform we have requested.
Filming guidelines
Ensure day or night scenes are appropriately lit and exposed. Speaking subjects should be guided accordingly, making sure they look neat and professional at all times. Unnecessary objects on set or on site should not to be visible in shooting scenes or subjects. If unedited footages are required, allow a breathing space in between takes, include a clap / slate to identify takes and scenes. Avoid taking out of focus and shaky footages.
Voice audio and voice overs
Ensure voice audio is eligible and clear. Voice overs can be taken along with the video footage. Sound needs to be balanced through the video. Please leave space for audio headroom and avoid meter peaking. This will allow us to make adjustments should we need to. Make sure there are no room noise and other disruptive noise at all times. Voice audio should be more dominant over a background music.
Background music selection
Please try to use corporate or related music in your videos and avoid high beats-per-minute tracks or intense orchestral music that dominates the video. If you use any background music, please share source URL, artist name, track name and the terms of usage of the music used.
Volume levels
Volume levels must be set at -3db to -6db.
Transitions
Avoid unconventional transitions, such as spins, zooms, swipes, film burns etc. Dissolve transitions are acceptable.
Other languages and subtitles
When other languages are required e.g. Arabic, Mandarin, etc., please allow some space at the bottom part of the frame for insertion of subtitle translations in each scenes. Make sure lower third titles and subtitle translations will not overlap with each other.
How to share files
Files can be submitted to us in either physical or online form. For physical submissions, please bring an HD or USB stick to our offices and deliver it to us. We will make a copy on-site if possible, and it is your responsibility to retrieve the HD or arrange for its transfer at a later date. For online submissions, kindly utilize cloud hosting services such as Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive and send an invitation to creative@dmcc.ae. If necessary, we can also download the files via SFTP.
